In infrared thermography, a special heat sensitive camera is used so that practical matters and processes can be made visible. With use of a thermal camera it is possible to assign colors to different temperatures. This way, temperatures of objects can be made visible, for example varying from bright yellow/white (warm) to dark blue/black (cold). It should be noted that thermal images only show (heat radiating) surfaces, temperature measurements of air is not possible.
A thermal photograph is the easiest and quickest method to detect energy waste in buildings, moisture and electrical issues in buildings. The following thermographic inspections are performed by Verhoef Consultancy:
- Building inspection. A building inspection can show errors in the thermal boundary, such as poor insulation, air leaks, cold bridges;
- Installation inspection. An installation inspection can make certain problems visible such as: leakage and poor insulation in the installations.
Besides the standard building and installation inspections, we can offer more complex and creative use of thermal images to make a many problems visible. If necessary in combination with other measurement methods such as smoke tubes, anemometers, surface temperature measurement, and so on.
